In the late winter preparation season, EB-LINK completed point survey and link design for the fiber-optic transformation of security monitoring in a county, covering video backhaul link planning for 217 roads and village entrance points. The survey results have been handed over to the integrator along with two routing maps.

I walked through an area in three days and only remembered six columns.

Points in the county are scattered, some are still backhauled by coaxial cables in the early years, some network cables enter the building, and the pipeline conditions are uneven. The survey team registered point by point according to six columns: existing wire type, measured return distance, pipe and hand hole conditions, available fiber core resources, fiber optic cable lead locations, and equipment room end points. They also took photos of the lead points of each point and archived them. They were filed on the form on the day of the survey without leaving any verbal impressions.

The distance is determined by the gear, and the number of cores is determined by single fiber and double fiber.

  • Points with an actual measured backhaul distance within 3 km and abundant fiber cores are planned according to Gigabit single-mode dual-fiber links, leaving room for subsequent upgrades;
  • For points where the distance exceeds 3 km or where there is only a single core left in the pipeline, the design will be based on a single-fiber wavelength division link. For gear comparison, please refer toSecurity video surveillance fiber optic transmission solution;
  • The old points that are still using analog cameras are listed separately, and two methods are distinguished: direct replacement of video optical transceivers and network first, so as to avoid mixed lines in construction.

What I took away was a list that can be directly constructed.

The results include a point-by-point link list and a material summary table: the list marks the distance of each point, fiber core occupancy, single fiber and double fiber, and equipment models at both ends. The summary table counts the quantity by model and checks it with the link list to prevent reordering. The same set of survey methods has been used previously inPhase III of "Safe City" video surveillance optical fiber transmission of a city's Public Security BureauUsed in the project, this time it was deployed to the county scene.
