In response to the data center's demand for faster delivery of cabinet interconnection, EB-LINK has recently expanded its spot inventory of DAC and AOC high-speed cables. The specifications cover 10G, 25G, 40G, and 100G mainstream speeds and common lengths. Some models can be shipped on the same day of ordering.
Stock preparation focuses on access and aggregation scenarios
DAC is used for short-distance interconnection between the same cabinet and adjacent cabinets, and the cost and power consumption are lower than the optical module solution; AOC integrates the optical modules at both ends with the optical fiber, eliminating the need for separate modules, and is suitable for inter-column cabling within tens of meters. This expansion gives priority to covering the most frequently called access and uplink specifications in the Spine-Leaf architecture, shortening the waiting period for expansion projects. For capacity expansion and fault replacement, the cable spot rate directly affects the duration of network outage, which is also the starting point for this priority stocking.
Spot specifications and length
- DAC: 10G/25G/40G/100G full rate, including10G DAC high speed cable and 100G DAC high speed cable, the length is mainly 1/2/3/5 meters
- AOC: 10G to 40G commonly used 1-10 meter length, such as 40G AOC active optical cable, covering different cabinet spacing
- For compatible specifications, please check the plug direction according to the switch and network card brand before shipping to avoid reverse installation.
Sample taking and delivery improvement
All cables pass connectivity and plug-in tests before leaving the warehouse. Data center customers can apply for samples to check the routing and length of cabinet wiring, and the delivery time of batch orders is shortened simultaneously; the specifications of samples and batch shipments are consistent, reducing the cost of rechecking after arrival.
