EB-LINK has recently upgraded its optical module coding service. It has expanded the code library of multiple mainstream data center switch brands and recent firmware versions to the existing support range of Cisco, Huawei, H3C, ZTE, Ruijie, etc. The module can write corresponding identification information for free on demand.
Why coding is important for data centers
Switches usually verify the manufacturer code, serial number and authentication information of the inserted module. Modules without written codes may be directly refused to report alarms. Monitoring data such as DDM optical power and temperature will also be missing, and operation and maintenance will lose key basis when troubleshooting. Writing code allows compatible modules to access the device with a supported identity, and the link status remains visible and controllable. This is also a watershed for whether third-party modules can be used on a large scale. Unified coding in hybrid networking can also make different batches of modules behave consistently, simplifying alarm thresholds and operation and maintenance strategies.
Coverage of this upgrade
- Commonly used rates at access and aggregation layers: such asSFP+ 10G single-mode dual-fiber 10km optical moduleCode can be written according to the target brand
- Gigabit management network and out-of-band linksSFP Gigabit single mode dual fiber 10KM optical moduleAlso supported
- Customers can place an order by providing the switch model and firmware version. After writing the code, they will be retested one by one before shipment. The information includes the manufacturer name, device type and serial number, and can be generated in batches according to the project.
Make expansion and upgrade smoother
When upgrading from 10G to 25G or 100G, the same batch of modules can be coded at once to reduce mixed-dimensional alarms and rework when arriving in batches. Existing modules can also be returned to the factory for re-coding to avoid wholesale replacement. EB-LINK also provides supporting network cards, DAC/AOC and jumpers, which are delivered in stock; coding requirements can be submitted to 0755-83179002 or technical support email.
