In early April, EB-LINK shipped a batch of POL equipment to a university dormitory in Southeast Asia for the optical import and copper withdrawal project.SFP 2.5G single mode dual fiber 20KM optical module,SC-SC single mode single core jumperWith Gigabit single-fiber transceivers, projects move into layer-by-layer usage.

The apartment has light in and copper out, similar construction

The dormitory building used to have floor switches cascaded and Category 6 cables running into rooms, and there were many fault points due to lightning strikes and moisture. The transformation takes the POL route: splitting light and placing boxes in layers, pulling optical fiber to each room, and turning the end side back to the network port. Similar all-optical delivery to overseas campuses has been done many times. Our experience is that besides the equipment, what is more important is consistent head shape and clear markings.

Three things to do before going to sea

  • The pigtails and jumpers are unified into the SC head and tested one by one, aligned with the local splitter box interface to avoid on-site wiring changes.
  • The test data is archived by batch, and the inspection documents are attached with the box to facilitate the local construction party's acceptance.
  • The jumper is transported in packaging with terminal sheaths and dry bags, ready for use right out of the box after long-distance shipping.
  • Packing details and box number barcodes are attached with the goods. After arriving at the port, you can check by box, so there is no need to rummage through the box.

There are precedents to refer to

In the direction of Southeast Asia, EB-LINK has been completedSoutheast Asian operator 10G optical module and ODF batch delivery project, this time the apartment delivery follows the same organizational method: consistent batches, pre-ordered documents, testing and inspection, the spectrometer box is coded one by one, and a room comparison table is posted on the inside of the box cover. The local team can pick it up according to the instructions, and the acceptance after arrival at the port is also much smoother.

The subsequent optical splitting and pigtailing requirements of the project will be completed in batches, and support engineers can pre-allocate materials according to the building number and the number of rooms on each floor.
