This month, EB-LINK upgraded the factory quality inspection process of fiber optic transceivers, adding two new processes: full load aging and electrical port throughput retest, and included all Gigabit, one optical, one electrical and multi-electrical port models. The changes are not reflected in the parameter table. The purpose is to further reduce the on-site repair rate.

Why do we need to add these two steps?

The most common on-site fault of the transceiver is not that the transceiver is blocked, but that it is running but the port is jittering: some electrical ports have increased bit errors after being fully loaded for a long time, which cannot be found in short-term tests.Gigabit single mode single fiber one optical one electrical fiber optic transceiverOnce such a large-volume model has problems in batches, the customer will lose the entire acceptance cycle. In long-term fully loaded links such as tunnels and pipe galleries, soft failures consume more operation and maintenance patience than hard disconnections. The cost of moving quality inspection forward is always lower than the round-trip freight and construction period after sales.

Specific changes to the new process

  • The whole machine is aged for several hours at high temperature and under full load to screen out early failure components.
  • Perform throughput retest on each electrical port one by one, and record the results port by port for multi-port models.
  • The serial number of the record of passing the test is archived, and the shipment batch can be traced.
  • Aging and retest data are archived by batch, and customers can request corresponding records.

After receiving random inspection, it can be put online without re-inspection one by one.

The most direct change is that after the goods arrive, they can be put online after unpacking and random inspection. The weak current monitoring and park project team saves the unit-by-unit re-inspection link; batch shipments are compared based on batch samples, and on-site problems can be traced and located.
