In the review list for the 100G upgrade of a large data center in East China, the acceptance data seems to have the lowest technical content, but in fact it has the heaviest weight on the owner's side - the link is connected but it is unclear where the fiber core is going, and it is still confusing when there is a failure. Here we review the three sets of records left at that time, see the case100G optical fiber interconnection upgrade between buildings in a large data center in East China.

Port and fiber core correspondence table: link account

From switch ports, ODF racks, optical cable core numbers to incoming wire sections, they are numbered step by step and indexed to each other. In the early stages of the project, troubleshooting took most of the night because of a recording fault in the middle rack. Later, the table was made up so that the opposite end could be found at either end. It is also used to organize the inventory of materials and jumper lengths, and will be used directly for subsequent expansions.

Optical power test records: stored in pairs before and after transformation

  • The terminal development stage and the module addition stage are tested once each, and the two sets of data are archived in pairs;
  • Use the same instrument and the same reference wavelength to avoid cross-device comparison distortion;
  • Abnormal cores should be noted in a separate column, and general qualification standards are not allowed.

Cutover ledger: when, who and what action to take

The start and end times of each window, operations and checkers, execution actions and rollback records are all recorded. The owner will directly adjust the account for the next two audits and disaster recovery drills, and no longer has to bother the construction unit to replenish materials. The ledger also includes window scheduling and personnel division of labor, so that there will be a reference for arranging similar cutovers later.

Three sets of recording templates have been standardized with the EB-LINK project package and are also applicable to the transformation of the park's all-optical network.
