This review involves the wiring routing issues of two projects: the 1.8 to 6.2 kilometers of horizontal interconnection between buildings in the East China Big Data Center, and the 120,000-square-meter vertical wiring of the high-tech park office building. The media are the same but the scenarios are very different. See the cases separately100G optical fiber interconnection upgrade between buildings in a large data center in East China and Integrated wiring and all-optical network FTTH project for high-tech park office buildings.

Distance between buildings: first use existing pipes, then carefully re-elevate them

Between the three buildings of the data center, priority is given to using existing trenches in the park to lay cables, and new overhead sections are minimized. Overhead is fast, but the cost is affected by long-term wind vibration, UV aging and external suspension risks; for links with speeds of 100G and above, it is generally recommended that pipelines be given priority, and self-supporting optical cables should be selected during the overhead period and signs and warnings should be installed. The owner of the shortest 1.8-kilometer section of the project once proposed a new overhead section to save construction time, but after weighing long-term wind vibration and temperature differences, the existing pipe trench was still used.

Verticality in the building: Shaft space and fireproof sealing decision process

  • The weak current rooms of each layer are terminated by ODF, and the bridge filling rate leaves room for capacity expansion;
  • The openings on each floor of the shaft are sealed against fire, and they are also used to prevent rats and moisture;
  • Protective sheaths should be added to the edges of wall panels and metal before turning;
  • For use with lower leads and exposed sections of cabinetsSingle mode single core armored patch cord, anti-stepping and anti-biting.

After selecting the route, leave the account first

Both projects create routing files based on building, floor, and fiber core. The cost of not having an account shows up when there is a failure: when checking a core, you don't know which building or rack it goes to, and the time increases exponentially. With the account, the operation and maintenance line check is significantly accelerated.
