Recently, EB-LINK completed the batch delivery of 25G server access upgrades for a securities company's data center. The supply covers 25G fiber optic network cards, supporting optical modules and high-speed cables. The goods arrive in batches about three weeks before leaving the factory, and all are tested one by one before leaving the factory.

Why supply as a whole package?

The brokerage's core trading system previously used 10 Gigabit access. After the amount of market and clearing data increased, network cards, switch ports, and jumpers had to be accelerated simultaneously. Scattered purchases were prone to speed mismatches and coding incompatibilities. This time, EB-LINK provides unified matching according to the model list: the server side adoptsPCI-EX8 25G dual optical port fiber optic network card (Intel XXV710 chip), dual ports for link aggregation; used for short-distance interconnection within the cabinet25G DAC high speed cable; Cross-computer room links use single-mode optical modules and LC jumpers, and a list is used to align the three-layer equipment.

Two details in implementation

The first is driver adaptation: the Linux kernel version in the brokerage's production environment is relatively old, and technical support has provided a list of corresponding driver packages and firmware versions in advance to avoid the embarrassment of not recognizing the card on the day of launch. The second is link verification: Before each cabinet goes online, traffic and error statistics are performed to confirm that the 25G link is stable before switching to production traffic. Both ends of the aggregated link are checked separately to avoid unilateral slowdown.

What do customers get after the upgrade?

  • The access bandwidth of the trading server has been increased from 10G to 25G, and the liquidation batch processing window has been significantly shortened;
  • The module has been coded according to the switch brand and tested one by one before leaving the factory, and is plug-and-play on site;
  • The supporting list is templated, and subsequent expansion can be supplemented according to the order;
  • Commonly used spare parts can be added in batches to shorten the waiting period.
