Recently, the EB-LINK coding service has completed a round of updates. Based on the original mainstream brand protocol library, several new model adaptations for on-network industrial switches and routers have been added, covering Gigabit and 10G optical port scenarios common in power dispatch data networks.

Pain points in renovation projects: Mixing old and new modules

Substation communication transformation is rarely completed in one go. Often half of the ports are plugged into the original network's in-service modules and half are plugged into the newly modified modules. Different manufacturers have identification and verification for the inserted SFP. Some uncoded modules cannot report DDM data, and some are directly refused to work by the device. The purpose of coding customization is to make the new module run according to the coding expected by the equipment in service and maintain the continuity of network management monitoring. When the transformation progress is tight, an unrecognized module may cause the entire link to wait for replacement the next day, wasting the power outage window.

How to verify adaptation

Each round of new protocol library first completes code writing and lighting on the corresponding model prototype, confirms that the code area information and DDM readings are normal, and then performs cross-plugging and high-temperature static retesting. Only after passing the code will it enter the writable code list. How users apply

  • Provide the brand, model and optical port speed of the equipment in service. Please note the coding requirements with the order;
  • You can send one of the first batch of the same model for testing to confirm that the recognition is normal before shipping in batches;
  • Writing code does not change the original testing and quality assurance process of the module.
