This month, EB-LINK has added two in-stock armored pigtails to the optical passive series, covering single-core and dual-core specifications. They are intended for locations such as weak current wells and workshop bridges that are easily squeezed or chewed. The end face type and measured insertion loss value are marked with the goods.

Armor solves mechanical problems

The metal armor layer improves pressure resistance and rodent resistance, but it does not exempt the optical fiber from bending restrictions. The bending radius should still be maintained at not less than 30 mm at the down leads and turns. It is recommended that the junction between the armored section and the ordinary section be placed in a junction box or distribution frame, and not suspended on the bridge. Multi-mode scenarios can be referencedMulti-mode armored jumpers, pigtails, mouse-proof jumpers, special jumpers for Internet cafes, the specifications and length are checked according to the on-site lead path.

Three points to note when getting married

  • Before the metal outer sheath is put into the splicing tray, the fibers should be stripped off and sufficient coating should be left. Do not allow the bare fiber to be pressed during fiber coiling.
  • The fixed points of the armored pigtail and the cable reinforcement core are separated to prevent tension from being directly transmitted to the welding point.
  • Immediately after the end is completed, perform a near-end spot test to confirm that the fiber coil does not introduce additional macro-bend loss.

Ready stock and supporting conditions

This batch is stocked according to the UPC end faces of LC and SC. Adapters and attenuators are kept in stock at the same time. Industrial and security projects can be packed in one box, reducing on-site waiting and temporary replacement parts. Regular specifications still maintain the original number, and armored and ordinary pigtails can be cut together in the same batch of orders.
