This month EB-LINK delivered a batch of single-mode jumpers to a data center building interconnection project, mainly LC single-mode dual-core, deployed with ODF high-density distribution frames. The difficulty of the project is not in the total quantity, but in the dense port density, fragmented lengths, and batch delivery.
Why is it difficult to match high-density clusters?
There are both 1-meter short jumps and cross-cabinet 10-meter long jumps in the same row of cabinets. It would be wasteful to prepare long goods in a unified way, and short goods cannot be connected in a unified way. The team counts the lengths of each cabinet based on the port comparison table, and then prepares materials in batches to reduce temporary rerouting and secondary cutting on site.
For rows of homogeneous cabinets, we have also made standardized packages: the commonly used 2-meter and 3-meter cabinets are prepared in advance, and the long-term cabinets are made up according to the drawings, and can be put on the shelves upon arrival. Although the preparation of materials in batches increases the preliminary statistical workload, it allows on-site use out of the box, reducing temporary returns and secondary orders caused by inconsistent lengths.
How to manage polarity and identification
- The two-core jumper leaves the factory with A-B polarity to avoid reverse connection of transmitter and receiver.
- Add flag-shaped labels to both ends of each device, marking the local and opposite end port numbers.
- APC and UPC are packaged in separate colors to prevent mixing during construction.

Inspection and acceptance along with goods
Insertion loss and end face are measured one by one before shipment, and a test report is attached to facilitate on-site inspection. EB-LINK simultaneously provides a port comparison table to help operation and maintenance quickly review the link and pass the acceptance once.
For subsequent similar projects, wiring frame drawings can be provided first, and technical support will provide grading and stocking suggestions to shorten the delivery cycle, reduce on-site waiting and secondary orders.
