Starting this month, EB-LINK will add two inspections to transceivers, optical modules and supporting jumpers sent to industrial sites. The fiber pulling and switching records after looping and the high and low temperature review will be included in the regular process, and the documents accompanying the goods will be reflected simultaneously.

What additional inspections are required in the factory process?

• Record the transmitting and receiving luminous power of the module and transceiver one by one. If the deviation exceeds the specification, it will be returned directly and will not be included in the delivery batch.
• The sample is rechecked at both ends at -20 ℃ and 70 ℃, covering the common wide temperature range.
• After the dual-fiber ring is formed, unplug the fiber three times in succession, and record the time when the port status changes.
• The components are provisioned once according to the actual topology provided by the customer, and the port status is confirmed to be consistent before shipment.

Why is the problem always exposed in the cabinet?

The newly added two items target the two most common types of failures on site: insufficient link margin and on-off jitter at the temperature boundary. The normal temperature test in the computer room cannot cover the latter. The links in industrial projects are much longer than those in computer rooms. The cabinets are hundreds of meters apart and the connection points are densely packed. The more connection points there are in the cabinet, the harder it is to reproduce welding loss. Waiting for the production line to resume production before going back to check the components will be much more expensive than one more test at the factory stage.

How to use the test records included with the goods

Records are archived by batch number, and the original data can be reviewed by reporting the batch and serial number of the disputed device.
