At the end of September, EB-LINK completed the upgrade of the factory quality inspection process for PCIe storage expansion cards. Based on the original appearance and welding inspection, card-by-card full load aging test was included as a required inspection item for all models, covering single-port to four-port series on sale in the special area.

The new process adds three levels

  • Full load read and write aging: Each disk slot is filled with high-speed disks, reading and writing at full speed continuously, eliminating intermittent slowdown cards;
  • Temperature rise comparison: record the temperature of each point on the card under full load and compare with the benchmark curve;
  • Multi-system identification: Verify device identification and channel enumeration results on both Windows and Linux platforms.

Why focus on full load and temperature rise?

Occasional failures of expansion cards reported on site mostly occur in superimposed working conditions where multiple disks are fully loaded and the chassis is hot, rather than in a single disk light-load environment. High-density models such as four-port double-sided models are more likely to expose heat dissipation shortcomings, so this upgrade will prioritize coverage.PCI-EX16 to M.2 four-port expansion card (double-sided ultimate version)with hybrid modelsPCI-EX8 to 4-port M.2+4-port SATA expansion card, and then gradually extended to all series.

What it means for users

After the upgrade, each batch of goods comes with test records, which can be directly quoted for project acceptance; bulk purchase customers can make an appointment for on-site inspection. Technical support has simultaneously updated troubleshooting guidelines for common testing problems. The consultation hotline is 0755-83179002, and responses will be provided during working days.

Single-port entry-level models such asPCI-EX4 to M.2 single port expansion cardIt has also passed the re-test according to the new process. The existing spot batches will be switched to the new inspection version one after another. The old batch inventory will clearly indicate the quality inspection process version on the product parameter page. The acceptance standards can be checked accordingly when purchasing to avoid data inconsistencies caused by mixed batches.
