EB-LINK recently completed the batch delivery of 10 Gigabit optical fiber network cards and supporting modules for a smart factory network transformation project of an auto parts factory. All network cards were tested and shipped one by one according to the unified firmware driver version, and the deployment manual accompanying the goods was simultaneously distributed to the production line implementation team.
Why are even the drivers packaged in batches?
The visual workstations and production line hosts in the factory are mainly industrial computers, with a wide range of system versions. Inconsistent driver versions will cause batch deployment scripts to behave differently on different machines. This batch of goods is locked in advance to a single firmware driver version, and the installation methods are organized according to the host system classification. The deployment manual covers the three steps of driver installation, energy-saving item disabling, and link rate verification. Production line personnel can complete the self-installation inspection by following these steps without having to ask developers for support one by one.
What is included in this delivery
- Host-side deploymentPCI-EX4 10 Gigabit single electrical port network card (Intel X550 chip), the visual workstation is connected to the aggregation switch through the optical fiber link
- Optical port with the same batchSFP+ 10G single-mode dual-fiber 10km optical module, record the sending and receiving light data one by one and then label and ship.
- The jumpers are prefabricated according to the actual length measured on site and labeled on both ends to reduce the nighttime cutover window.
Customer benefits and follow-up arrangements
This delivery supportsSmart factory industrial network transformation for an auto parts manufacturerIn the traffic section of the visual inspection and dispatching system, large image uploads are no longer queued after the cutover, and the image return delay within the production line beat has significantly converged. EB-LINK technical support will follow up on-site driver issues according to working day rhythm. For expansion batches, the supply of the same version can be locked in advance through 0755-83179002 to avoid secondary adaptation.
If a manufacturing project needs to be promoted in batches, it is recommended to verify it on a single production line before expanding the deployment. It is easiest to keep the firmware and driver versions consistent throughout the factory.
