The most typical scenario of module mixing is when the construction team is faced with a box of devices with the same appearance on the day of cutover and cannot distinguish between them. Labeling shipments according to office locations solves this problem, but there are particularities in what the labels say and where they are posted.

label minimum field set

It is recommended to include at least four items: site number, target device and port location, module model and distance range, and batch number. The fields correspond to the corresponding table in the box one-to-one, and the construction personnel can determine where to install the module without looking through the information. likeGigabit single mode single fiber one optical one electrical fiber optic transceiverFor such devices that need to be used in pairs, the A-side or B-side must be written on the label.

Wavelength and distance bins must be visible

Single-fiber equipment relies on 1310/1550 wavelengths to distinguish the sending and receiving directions. If installed incorrectly, the link will be blocked. Write the wavelength and distance file as a short code and put it on the second line of the label, such as 10KM-1310, so that it can be read at a glance. The spots where multi-mode and single-mode are mixed are distinguished by labels with different background colors to reduce the probability of misinstallation during night construction.

In offices where FTTH and metropolitan area network access are mixed, it is recommended to cooperate withCampus network and FTTH integrated cabling solutionThe numbering rules allow module labels and ODF port labels to use the same set of codes to avoid inconsistency between the two systems.

The labeling position cannot block the optical port and unlocking structure.

  • The label should be affixed to the upper surface of the module casing or the root of the pull ring. It is prohibited to cover the gold finger and optical port end surface.
  • Do not wrap around the label. The curled edge of the label will get stuck in the cage mouth when unplugging and plugging in, making it difficult to remove when repairing.
  • The handwriting must be able to be wiped with alcohol and not fade with solvents commonly used on site to be considered qualified.

When EB-LINK leaves the factory, it will be labeled one by one according to the site table provided in the order and reviewed by two people. The label template can be sent out for confirmation first and then executed in batches. The sample label will be sent back with the first batch of shipments for storage.
