This week, EB-LINK made a targeted upgrade to the factory inspection of optical transceivers, adding environmental and electrical retests for tunnel and traffic electromechanical delivery batches, hoping to prevent problems that were only exposed on site in the past before shipment.

Two new levels added

  • High and low temperature cycle: simulate the temperature difference between day and night and seasonal temperature in the outer box of the cave, and check whether the video and data channels can produce pictures and collect data stably under temperature drift.
  • Signal line surge retest: Conduct induced overvoltage tests on 485 and other control ports to verify that the photoelectric isolation and protection design can withstand lightning strike induction at the entrance.
  • The retest data is registered in batches and filed together with the live test records one by one to facilitate traceability by the operator.

Why focus on the tunnel scene?

Tunnel electromechanical equipment is different from ordinary computer rooms: the outer box of the tunnel is exposed to the sun in summer, low temperature in winter, and the temperature difference between day and night is large. The drift of component parameters can easily cause screen flickering and data loss; the entrance of the tunnel is empty, and induction mines drill into the equipment along the long and scattered 485 bus. The start-up of vibration will be half a beat slower at low temperatures in winter. like8-channel video + 1-channel reverse 485 data video optical transceiver and 2-way bidirectional RS485 data optical terminalThis type of main model is the focus of this retest.

What it means for integrators and operators

One more retest, one less rework and hassle caused by the environment or surge at the delivery site, and greater confidence that it will be ready for use upon arrival.
