Recently, EB-LINK delivered the third batch of optical passive equipment to a high-tech park office building FTTH project, including single-mode pigtails, LC and SC adapters and cabinet distribution frames. Different from the previous batch, each piece of this batch comes with measured insertion loss and return loss data, and the acceptance form can be directly quoted.

The difficulty lies in the large number of cores and mixed interfaces.

In the all-optical network project, each layer of the weak current room must have dozens of cores. The jumper interface uses a mixture of LC and SC. The end also reserves FC ports for some equipment, which requiresLC-FC single mode dual core jumperThis type of transfer specification. The factory side is pre-configured according to the port list and tested one by one, so there is no need to temporarily select wires for trial and error on site. The judgment is based on the return loss of the UPC end face being more than 50 dB, the APC end face being more than 55 dB, and the insertion loss exceeding the tolerance will be eliminated separately.

What is given in the test report?

  • The measured insertion loss value of each jumper and pigtail is usually controlled within 0.2 dB.
  • Sampling ratio and judgment conclusion of end face interference inspection.
  • The corresponding relationship between the box number and the floor port segment facilitates tracing back to the specific location.
  • The total link loss and the average value of the splice point measured by OTDR.

The acceptance party saves on-site man-hours

The construction team allocates ports according to the report, and the scope of random inspection in the acceptance stage is reduced from all cores to about 10% by batch; the owner incorporates the report into the completion data, and the initial value can be found as a baseline during subsequent expansion or troubleshooting. Subsequent batches will be delivered in alignment with the report format and port list. Integrators who need to send for testing or verify the end face type can contact 0755-83179002.
