This week, the EB-LINK technical team paid a return visit to the smart factory industrial network of an auto parts manufacturer in Dongguan, focusing on checking the link operation status after the optical interface of the welding and assembly workshops. They also compiled similar repair reports since the launch into a ledger and handed it over to the equipment and information sides.

During the return visit, first check the repair record, and then look at the link indicators.

Acceptance data at the completion of the renovation is only a starting point. This time, I checked the repair entries of the past year by shift, and mapped the three types of disconnection, frame loss, and camera reconnection to specific work stations and network cards one by one. Then I looked back at the operation records at that time: whether the welding machines were started at the same time, and whether the frequency conversion cabinet had just completed the speed adjustment. Similar faults have basically not been registered again after the optical interface was adopted. The remaining two are related to the bending radius of the camera cable and have nothing to do with the transmission medium.

What can be used in the ledger for a long time is the port correspondence.

The production line will continue to process positions, and the correspondence left during the transformation is more durable than the parameter table. This ledger is registered at four levels:

  • Industrial computer number, network card model and slot location, indicating the PCI-E version and the number of remaining available slots;
  • The sending and receiving direction, jumper length and interface type of each optical port, there is no need to dismantle the cabinet to check when replenishing the line;
  • The device address segment and baud rate corresponding to the 485 channel, to avoid address conflicts when adding a new robot;
  • The time when the fault occurred and the operating status of the equipment at that time provide a reference for subsequent delimitation.

Feedback on-site conclusions into plans and cases

Most of the interference at the welding station falls on the common mode and power paths. If you just change the network card without adjusting the wiring path, the effect will be compromised. The return visit records are also used to adjust the stock of spare parts. If you need Wolflight technical support to check the working conditions of similar factories or request a ledger template, you can call 0755-83179002 to make an appointment.
