One month after the all-optical network project in a high-tech park passed the acceptance inspection, the EB-LINK technical support team cooperated with the park's weak current team to complete the first round of retesting of the optical power margin. The startup reading, the retest reading and the difference between the two were written into the ledger port by port, leaving a comparable benchmark for subsequent inspections.
Fix the measuring diameter before retesting
The retest uses the instrument and wavelength used when it was turned on, and samples are taken uniformly on the distribution frame side. There is no need to switch back and forth between module self-reported readings and instrument readings. There is usually a deviation of a few tenths of dB between the two calibers. Mixing the records will distort the trend. It looks like it is deteriorating, but it is just a change of measurement method. Each link contains at least five items: port number, fiber core number, starting module position, receiving end actual measurement value, and measuring person. If one is missing, it will be impossible to align and compare next time.
Focus on links with less than 3 dB margin
This round of retest covers more than 200 optical ports, and the light reception of most links falls between -8 and -14 dBm, which is consistent with the design value. The anomalies are concentrated in two categories: the jumper between weak currents is pressed into a small bend by the cabinet door, and there are fingerprints left on the two ends. After sorting out the routing, cleaning the end faces, and retesting, the margins of these ports returned to more than 4 dB; the three links that cannot be rectified temporarily are marked separately in the ledger, and will be reviewed first in the next round of inspections without waiting for threshold alarms.
The ledger and template will be handed over to the park together.
The park received three tables that can be used directly: link margin ledger, inspection sign-in table, and classification threshold description.Campus network and FTTH integrated cabling solutionThe port numbering rules are filled in to avoid the situation where each team has to remember one set. The significance of the first round of retesting is not just to repair a few ports, but to turn the acceptance into a state that can be continuously checked, and the handover personnel can also take over directly from the outside.
