As the maintenance season approaches, EB-LINK collects passive maintenance consumables such as end detectors, cleaning pens, cassette wipe tapes, and dust caps into warehouses, and puts them on the shelves in the maintenance consumables area. They are sorted in the same warehouse as adapters, jumpers, and attenuators, and can be shipped in sets according to the link list.
Three new types of tools have been added to the special area
- Handheld end face detector, with optional 200x and 400x lenses, covering LC, SC, and FC interfaces;
- Cleaning pens and cartridge cleaning tapes are stocked according to specifications of 1.25mm and 2.5mm ferrules;
- The adapter core replacement tool and dust cap supply package are suitable for replenishing existing computer rooms;
- Spare lenses and calibration slides are stored simultaneously to facilitate daily cleaning and focus checking of the end detector.
These consumables were originally scattered in different columns. This time they are classified into a special area and an independent prefix is assigned to the model. It is easier for the operation and maintenance party to create a ledger and manage inventory. You can search by prefix when replenishing orders.
How to configure the package for delivery
For operation and maintenance teams, the warehouse can calculate the consumables ratio based on the number of ports: it is recommended to have two per 48 ports; park projects can refer toCampus network and FTTH integrated cabling solutionList template report. If you are not sure about the conversion, report the number of ports and jumpers. The warehouse manager will divide the boxes into boxes according to the above proportions. The box labels correspond to the port tables. The arrival of the goods will be distributed to the team according to the box and the work can start. There is no need to receive the goods in multiple batches.
Recommendations for self-inspection before delivery
It is recommended that the maintenance team perform an end-face self-inspection before cutover and supplementary testing: pull out two jumpers on each running link, wipe them clean and check them with a terminal detector. If there are scratches or stains in the core area, return them to the furnace and clean them before putting them on the machine. If the end faces are still unqualified after repeated cleaning, the jumpers should be cut off and re-terminated or replaced entirely. The self-inspection and cleaning are combined in one trip, which saves one round trip for fiber extraction.
