This week, EB-LINK has made a centralized update to the spot catalog of optical passive components in the station: LC, SC, and FC series adapters are put on shelves in batches according to two grinding methods: UPC and APC. The warehouse stores the two end face types in separate warehouses and picks them separately to reduce the probability of sending wrong goods.

Why do adapters need to be stored in separate warehouses?

The differences in the appearance of the adapter focus on the color of the dust cap and the internal sleeve: APC usually has green parts, UPC is blue, and multi-mode products are more beige. It is difficult to distinguish just by looking at the photos. Once they are mixed in the same material box, it is easy to pick the wrong ones when picking the goods during the rush period. Only when you arrive at the site will you find abnormal link insertion loss, and the rework cost is much higher than checking it again before leaving the warehouse. This catalog update presents the pictures and model suffixes of the two grinding methods separately, which can be compared on the order page.

What parameters have been added to the directory?

  • Nominal insertion loss: Single-mode and multi-mode adapters are uniformly marked not higher than 0.3dB;
  • Return loss: UPC label is not less than 50dB, APC label is not less than 60dB;
  • Sleeve material: mainly zirconia ceramic sleeve, with instructions for caliber consistency inspection;
  • Applicable optical fiber: single-mode OS2 and multi-mode OM3 and OM4 respectively correspond to two sleeve specifications.

How to clearly state the model number when placing an order?

It is recommended to explain three points at once: interface type, grinding method, single mode or multi-mode, such as LC UPC single mode. Both ends of the link and the middle wiring port should maintain the same grinding type. For matching jumpers, please refer toLC-LC single mode dual core jumper; Park cabling projects can be marked column by column in the delivery list according to the port table; ordering by box is also supported when only a single specification is supplied.
