In mid-June, the EB-LINK technical support department held a half-day workshop on optical fiber cabling construction specifications in Shenzhen, targeting all-optical network integration partners in parks and buildings. The course was centered around the most common pitfalls in the project. The lectures were followed by practical exercises, and the atmosphere was more lively than expected.

The course focuses on four aspects

  • Model selection: Applicable boundaries of OS2 and OM3/OM4, under what circumstances can single-mode be used directly?
  • Process: Empirical figures for the minimum bending radius, traction and reserved length of jumpers
  • Management: Three-stage label encoding and ODF port table establishment method
  • Acceptance: Completion Document List and Bidirectional Insertion Loss Determination Criteria

Positive feedback from practical sessions

At the training site, students used a light source and power meter to retest a patch cord that was bent into a small radius. They were deeply impressed when they saw the long wavelength window reading jump; the instructor said:LC-LC 10G multi-mode OM3 two-core jumperThe correct postures for end face cleaning, dust cap management and stress relief were demonstrated with armored samples. Some partners invited the course to be delivered to their respective project teams on the spot. The question-and-answer session focused on the handover of the port table and the division of rectification responsibilities, which happens to be the content to be supplemented in the next courseware.
