Recently, EB-LINK has launched a universal spare parts supporting service: in response to the problem that multiple brands of the same specification and identification codes in the customer spare parts pool cannot be interoperated, it provides three combinations of specification table support, cross-brand coding and boxing labeling. The first batch is for the Gigabit and 10G SFP series.

The spare parts pool is difficult to use and is stuck on the identification code.

There is often more than one brand of switches on the existing network. The same batch of spare parts modules may not be recognized when plugged into equipment of another brand. Users have to prepare one set of each brand. In addition to doubling the specifications, inventory, procurement and scrap costs all increase accordingly. The thicker the spare parts ledger, the slower the on-site response. The general blocking point is the identification code.

The service does three things: watch, write code, and label.

  • Check the table: Check the speed, distance and code type requirements according to the equipment list in use, and converge on the main specifications and edge specifications;
  • Coding: Write identification codes separately for modules with the same specifications by brand. Cisco, Huawei, H3C, ZTE, and Ruijie are all supported by free coding;
  • Labeling: The products are packaged and labeled according to the code type before leaving the factory. The labels indicate the corresponding relationship between the available device pools and ports, and the warehouse collects them by carton.

Chain benefits of inventory and delivery time

After generalization, the quantity of spare parts only needs to be set according to the main level, and marginal models are replenished on a per-order basis; when a fault is replaced, there is no need to first search for corresponding brand parts in the inventory, and the replacement time is shortened. For units engaged in green network operation and maintenance, less preparation, less replacement, and less scrapping are the same things that reduce costs and waste.

The service is open for consultation. Send the list of equipment in use to EB-LINK technical support (0755-83179002) to get specification convergence suggestions. The 25G and 40G gears will be expanded in the future.
