Starting this month, in addition to the original optical power and channel testing, the factory inspection of EB-LINK video optical transceivers will include end-to-end delay measurement and multi-channel simultaneous lighting after paired connectivity. Inspection records are provided with the batch.

What changes have occurred in the inspection content?

In the past, unit-by-unit testing focused on single-point indicators, and on-site joint debugging still required the integrator to verify connectivity. The new process connects the devices in pairs, continuously sends signals at the nominal resolution, records the picture recovery time and the delay difference between channels, and confirms that there is no color cast or desynchronization when multiple channels are working at the same time. Taking the multi-channel composite model as an example,4-way two-way HDMI+network+4-way independent two-way audio optical transceiverAll four channels of picture and four channels of independent audio need to be verified at the same time. If any channel is abnormal, it will be judged as failed.

Why large-screen projects care about consistency

  • If the channel delay difference between splicing screens across multiple screens is too large, there will be steps and misalignment in the motion picture, which is most easily seen when the director cuts shots.
  • When the audio and video are synchronized, the lip synchronization deviation is more easily noticed by the audience than the video delay alone, and a separate set of values needs to be recorded.
  • Paired actual measurement records ready for use upon arrival can reduce the man-hours of repeated disassembly and assembly during joint debugging, and batch data can also be compared one by one during acceptance.

Next step

The company plans to expand this process to SDI and uncompressed DVI models, andRadio, television and large-screen audio and video optical fiber transmission solutionsThe inspection template is synchronized in the delivery document, and the record fields and criteria are written clearly to facilitate the project party to compare them one by one during acceptance.
