Optical modules coded according to brand require more judgment than ordinary modules: whether the fault lies in the device itself or in the identification and pattern. When dealing with this type of module, EB-LINK recommends following three paths in an orderly manner.
First use DDM readings to distinguish modules or links.
Compare the current receiving and receiving luminous power with the baseline recorded during acceptance: the transmitting power is normal and the receiving power is low, check the optical fiber link first; if the transmitting power itself deteriorates or the reading jumps abnormally, the module suspicion increases. The DDM calibration area of the coding module is shipped with theSFP+ 10G multi-mode dual-fiber optical moduleThe test records of this type of model are archived, and the original data can be retrieved by citing the batch number on the label when reporting for repair.
Remote demarcation and repair preparation and walking
There is no need to wait after confirming the suspicion on the module side: Cooperate with technical support to change ports, change fibers, and cross-verify against normal parts, and keep screenshots of the results; at the same time, register for repair according to the warranty process, take photos of the labels of the faulty parts, and send them back to Shenzhen with the arrival record. For identification issues, technical support will remotely check the code pattern and target device version to determine whether to rewrite it.
Rewriting and reusing depends on the module status.
When a whole batch of switches are rebranded, code-writing modules with normal functions can be rewritten into codes suitable for the new equipment for free. After the change, the module will be read back for verification before being sent back; however, if the module has been confirmed to have deteriorated in the warranty judgment and rewriting cannot solve the problem, it should be returned for repair first. Long distance items such asSFP 2.5G single mode dual fiber 40KM optical moduleBefore rewriting, it is recommended to retest the luminous power and keep it for file.
The entrances to the three roads are the technical support hotline 0755-83179002 from 8:30-18:00 on weekdays. When reporting a fault, please mention the batch number and code type first, which can significantly speed up the processing.
