The most difficult part in building access design is often the 100 meters from the weak current room to the tenant's home. Whether to use copper cables or optical cables, the answer can be found from three aspects: distance, interference and frequency change.
Copper cable still has its place
Standard Ethernet stipulates that the copper cable section is 100 meters. Considering the bypass of the bridge and the addition of jumpers in the future, the design value is generally not more than 80 meters; when using PoE power supply, the voltage drop is obvious, and the distance must be shortened. When indoor points are concentrated, the weak current room is next door, and the total number is less than twenty, direct laying of copper cables is still suitable; beyond this range, the link margin mainly depends on the quality of the wire and the joint process.
Once you cross the border, change your appearance
Direct glazing is recommended in three situations: cross-layer remote downlink, for example, weak current rooms on even-numbered floors serve indoors on odd-numbered floors; strong interference areas adjacent to elevator shafts or power equipment rooms; tenants requiring physical isolation of links and not wanting to share channels. Available in short-distance single-core scenariosGigabit single mode single fiber one optical one electrical fiber optic transceiver, A/B ends can be paired to form a chain, saving the main fiber core.
Optically modified ends to prevent mechanical damage
Shafts and suspended ceilings are high-risk areas for rodent infestations and construction scratches. The end jumper section is optional.Single-mode double-core armored jumper, anti-mouse jumper, special jumper for Internet cafes, pigtailA type of armored model, the bending radius is controlled according to the armoring parameters, generally not less than 30mm; the wall holes are blocked simultaneously to prevent the optical cable from being suspended in the air; the jumper length is based on the actual measured route and a half-meter margin is added. It is better to be longer than shorter.
Summary: If copper can be used for short distances, use copper, but the conditions for light are reserved in the plan; at the indoor end, light or copper is determined by changing the frequency. EB-LINK's transceivers and armored patch cords can be configured on a trial basis by floor, and a link can be tested first before ordering a batch.
