The same type of equipment can be used for several years if installed in a well-ventilated control cabinet, but it may be restarted repeatedly in a top-level sealed cabinet throughout the summer. Whether the ring network redundancy can take effect stably depends to a large extent on whether the step of entering the cabinet is done well.

Choose a wide temperature range according to the temperature inside the cabinet

The temperature inside the cabinet is usually 10°C to 15°C higher than the outdoor weather temperature, and the top cabinet can exceed 60°C in summer. The selection should not only look at the nominal wide temperature range of the equipment, but also check the operating temperature limit of the optical module. The optical port is often the first link in the entire link where bit errors occur. It is recommended to estimate based on the most unfavorable position rather than the average temperature. Repeated restarts in summer and slow power-on in winter are mostly related to the estimation of this step, rather than the quality of the device itself.

Guide rail spacing and fiber optic disc retention

  • Leave a distance of more than 20 mm between adjacent devices on the DIN rail, and arrange the power modules and devices side by side.
  • Leave sufficient length on the jumper plate and maintain the bending radius. The optical fiber should be routed in an independent cable trough and separated from the power line.
  • For the lead section from outside the cabinet to inside the cabinetSingle-mode double-core armored jumper, anti-mouse jumper, dedicated jumper for Internet cafes, pigtail, to avoid trampling and rat bites.
  • The label indicates the A/B direction and the corresponding port. There is no need to ask the construction team one by one during ring network commissioning.

Dual power supply and grounding must be done correctly at one time

It is recommended that the ring network equipment be connected to a dual-channel redundant power supply. The ring will not fall apart when one rectifier fails. The shielding layer should be grounded at one end and the cabinets should be connected at equal potential. Sites with many overhead sections should reserve surge protection positions.Communication transformation plan for electric power and new energy stationsThere are special instructions for this part.

The power supply circuit and the power equipment should be routed separately to prevent the voltage drop when the motor starts from affecting the ring network nodes; adding ventilation or heat insulation to the cabinet door, and moving the hot power supply to the bottom are all low-cost remedies. EB-LINK technical support can assist in checking the temperature and power supply conditions inside the cabinet during the project planning stage.
