When there is an equipment problem, the speed of resolution often depends on how the first caller describes the problem. This article sorts out the standard path for after-sales response in three sections: demarcation, failure reporting, and repair. Readers can prepare directly according to the order.

First define the boundaries: divide the faults into three categories

  • Selection type: low receiving power or overload, rate mismatch, single fiber A/B end and wavelength pairing error, these types account for the majority of inquiries;
  • Link type: end face contamination, bending radius exceeding the standard, welding loss being too large, manifested as light receiving changes with weather or jitter;
  • Device type: single module orGigabit single mode single fiber one optical one electrical fiber optic transceiverPort abnormality, DDM reading distortion.

It is not difficult to collect the basis for delimitation: DDM transceiver and optical readings, switch port logs, peer device models and code patterns. If these three are collected, most problems can be determined on the spot.

Elements for reporting a failure: one sentence, a table, and a photo

One sentence describes the symptom (which link, when it started, what phenomenon), a port correspondence table (local and remote device models, module slots), and a photo of the nameplate and batch number. EB-LINK's technical support is accepted here and will respond on working days, providing remote guidance, on-site parts replacement or repair suggestions. Telephone communication is also available outside the technical support channel.

Repair and improvement: batch number is the clue

  • Send the faulty parts back together with the anti-static bag and batch number label to avoid disconnection of secondary inspection records;
  • Multiple failures in the same batch will trigger a review of factory records and compare the test data of the current batch;
  • When customizing code-writing devices, first check whether the on-site equipment is consistent with the code pattern to prevent misjudgment as a bad part;
  • After repair or replacement, test records will be attached to the order and the ledger will be closed.

The after-sales system is not an isolated link: factory test records, batch traceability and code library versions jointly determine the demarcation speed.
