After the campus all-optical network was delivered, the intuitive feeling of the operation and maintenance team was that there were not many devices to maintain: there were no switch cabinets on the floor, and there were no access devices to be restarted. The fault points converge to both ends of the computer room and the room, and the troubleshooting methods should be changed accordingly. Here are three good habits for flat operation and maintenance.

First establish the light receiving power baseline

During acceptance, the optical power received on the ONU side is archived point by point according to the PON port. The downlink is measured at 1490nm and the uplink is measured at 1310nm. The baseline table is bound into a book by floor and is handed over with the completion data during handover. In the future, every troubleshooting will be compared to the baseline: the aging of ordinary jumpers will be a slow slope, and the connector will be kicked loose and will drop a few dB at a time. The shapes of the two curves are different, and the fault types can be roughly matched.

Click one bite, one paragraph, one position

  • If multiple ONUs connected to a PON port go offline at the same time, check the main fiber and splitter box first to make sure the OLT board is not suspected.
  • Cut off several adjacent ones together to see the corresponding branch fiber core or optical splitting port.
  • For single-point flash interruptions, check the room end first, clean and replace it.SC-SC single mode single core jumperTest, and then test the ONU optical port.

Only two places are left for active equipment

The meaning of flattening is to converge active equipment in the computer room and rooms: the OLT and uplink modules in the computer room are concentrated, and the ONUs in the room are small and scattered, with all passive devices in the middle. The convergence points that require photoelectric conversion in the building are integrated into the computer room management, using14-slot box transceiver rackCentralized power supply, temperature and alarms can be seen at a glance.
