In the teaching building, the light enters and the copper retreats, and the design focus shifts from whether the weak current well is sufficient to whether the backbone bandwidth is sufficient. The number of terminals in a classroom may seem small, but the demand doubles when the entire class interacts at the same time, and the upward direction is more often underestimated. The calculation is divided into three steps: counting endpoints, ordering single-end bandwidth, and comparing PON port capabilities.
Step 1: Count the endpoints of a classroom
A typical smart classroom has a large screen, teacher computer, AP, camera and 45 student tablets. In the interactive classroom, the AP can carry half of the tablets at the same time, which is calculated as 20 units times 8M, plus about 20M for 4K screen projection, about 16M for video backhaul, about 200M for downlink, and about 40M for uplink. The remaining amount is doubled.
Step 2: Compare PON port capabilities
Common GPON ports have 2.5G downlink and 1.25G uplink, and XG-PON has 10G downlink and 2.5G uplink. According to the above algorithm, one GPON port can be used as a 1:8 splitting band for eight ordinary classrooms. It is recommended to use XG-PON for video classes and unified examination inspections. Step Three: Gathering and Routing Details
- The room number and fiber core number are marked on the floor splitter box one by one, and checked according to the table, without relying on the master's memory.
- In the vertical section, walk through weak current shafts and keep away from strong currents. Both ends of the metal sheath should be grounded.
- The power supply equipment required in the classroom is centrally powered by floor boxes, and there is no power strip in the room.
Calculate the downlink, leave enough uplink, and mark the light splitting, and the all-optical network in the teaching building will be half stable. If you need to check the light splitting ratio and uplink bandwidth, you can contact EB-LINK technical support at 0755-83179002.
