The section where the outdoor optical cable is led from the pole along the wall to the hole has little room for bending and is often bumped and hung by people. It is the location where fiber breakage and additional loss are concentrated. Although the armored cable is more resistant to pressure, it is afraid of misinstallation. Here are three key parameters that can be accepted.
Bending radius: don't compete with the shape
The minimum bending radius of a jumper with a metal armor layer is usually recommended to be no less than 40 mm, which is larger than the requirement of about 25 mm for an ordinary 2 mm jumper. The corner of the lower lead section is the easiest to reduce the radius. Arc line bends or L-shaped wire protection elbows should be installed at the corners close to the wall. They cannot be pressed into right angles with bare hands. The macrobend loss at the 1550 nm wavelength is increased by such corners. It was only after measuring the optical power that it was discovered that the rework had to be repeated.
Fixed spacing: dense at the top and even at the bottom
The top of the down-lead section bears the weight of the entire cable section and is the easiest to slide down. The first stainless steel tie or fixing fixture should be within 30 cm from the corner; the vertical section generally has a fixed point every 60 to 80 cm, and one on each side of the wall hole and doorway. Do not strangle the clamp. Leave a pad between the sheath and the clamp. There is no difference between strangling the armor layer and bending the optical fiber with a wrench.
Floor protection: 30 cm from the ground is the danger zone
The adjacent area is easy to be touched by carts, pedestrians and rodents. It is recommended to install metal protective pipes or angle steel guardrails from the end of the guide to the entrance of the hole. The outside of the entrance should be high and the inside should be low, and the entrance should be blocked to prevent rainwater from flowing back. If there are traces of rodent infestation, use the section about entering the hole instead.Single mode single core armored patch cord, equipped with a mouse-proof box at the end.Park and FTTH integrated cabling solutionThere are more ways to introduce and implement the park for reference on the page.
EB-LINK recommends that the radius, spacing, and protection should be included in the construction handover document and measured item by item during acceptance. The rework rate will be significantly reduced.
