Most mismatches of high-speed cables can be seen during the arrival process. It is not until they are put on the shelves that the wrong ports are discovered, and the return and replacement period will directly hit the cutover window. Below is a sequence of inspections that you can follow.

One mouth type two speed

First look at the plugs at both ends: SFP+ corresponds to 10G, SFP28 corresponds to 25G, QSFP+ corresponds to 40G, and QSFP28 corresponds to 100G. If the mouth shape is correct, it also depends on the nominal speed of the cable. The same plug may not be universal at different speeds. The branch type especially depends on the direction. The 40G port is divided into four 10G channels.40G to 10G DAC high speed cableThe appearance is close to that of the entire 40G finished product. Mixing it will cause training failure.

Three lengths and four appearances

  • Measure the length of the thread and distinguish the net length and the total length including the head end. If it is too short, it will not be connected, and if it is too long, it will not fit in the coil.
  • Check whether the gold finger is scratched or oxidized, whether the plug protective sleeve is complete, and the dustproof plugs at both ends of the AOC should not be removed in advance.
  • Label rates are consistent with length and order,100G to 25G DAC high speed cableThe number of branches must be equal to the port table entries.

Five random tests on the computer

Select two or three in batches and plug them into actual switch ports, confirm that the links have been trained to the target rate at one time, and there are no unknown cable alarms on the management plane, and then put them on the shelf in batches. If the old computer room is reused or the same batch of cables is used by brand equipment, focus on checking the identification field and port release strategy. It takes about 20 minutes to complete five tasks, which is much cheaper than rework at the cutover site. EB-LINK is shipped in batches with specification labels. If you have any questions about the arrival, please contact 0755-83179002 during working hours for verification.
