When audio and video links are fiber-optic, the picture is often thought of first, but the lack of channels for calls and audio is easily discovered on the day of construction. There are actually three ways to combine director calls and audio transmission, corresponding to different forms of audio optical transceivers.

Method 1: Audio follows video

The HDMI optical transceiver has a built-in independent two-way audio channel. The program sound and the call share the same optical cable, but they each occupy one channel and do not preempt each other. It is suitable for conference rooms and small studios with few machine seats and scattered workstations. Common forms such as2-way HDMI+network+2-way independent two-way audio optical transceiver, the two-way dialogue just covers the basic needs of the director for the scene and the sound for return listening.

Group method two: independent call link

When the call system has reached a large scale and you just want to extend a certain conversation line to a separate control room, it is most convenient to use a single-channel audio optical transceiver, for example1-way two-way audio optical transceiver, one end is connected to the call station, and the other end is inserted into the existing panel, leaving the rest of the wiring in the workshop untouched. Suitable for extending the dialogue between temporary broadcast booths and fixed booths.

Method 3: Centralized return of program audio

  • The line level program sound of multiple venues is returned to the main control for unified recording, and 4-way unidirectional balanced audio optical transceivers can be used for one-to-many convergence
  • Balanced interface differential transmission has natural suppression of common mode interference from dimmers and frequency converters, and is the first choice for long distances on site.
  • The microphone level signal must first be raised to line level through the microphone amplifier before entering the optical transceiver. Don't expect the equipment to amplify it for you.

The three grouping methods can be mixed. The principle is that the call link is as short and independent as possible, and the program link is centralized. In the power-on sequence, remember to turn on the audio source first and then the display, and do the opposite when powering off, so that the popping sound can be minimized.
