The more models you have in stocking, the safer it is. Leaving the wrong items in the wrong places will only cost you money and occupy shelves. EB-LINK divides the site specifications into three categories: standing stock, quarterly replenishment, and temporary shipment based on on-site occurrence frequency and delivery timeliness, and provides the basis for judgment of each category.

Three categories worth keeping on hand for a long time

One is the spare part of the same grade for the port in use. If one link is broken, it must be replaced on the same day; the other is the universal distance grade, such asSFP Gigabit single mode dual fiber 10KM optical moduleThis type of specification can cover most routes in the campus; third, it is a consumable material that is prone to wear, and end surface contamination and bending lead to a high probability of failure.LC-LC single mode dual core jumperBelonging to this category, the price is low but missing parts can jam the entire link.

It's enough to replenish one batch every quarter.

  • Long-distance range: 40 and 80 kilometers only serve a few routes, and will be supplemented according to the number of links in use;
  • Branch cables: 40G to 10G are usually needed during the equipment replacement period;
  • Special port combinations: One optical port and eight electrical ports are only used in large quantities when new point groups are added, and a small amount can be left in normal times.

Prerequisites for temporarily adjusting goods

The premise is that the time limit permits and the specifications are not unusual. The site is in an urban area, and the cutover window is fixed on weekends, so the risk of temporary goods transfer is controllable; if the link carries the production network or monitoring backbone, missing parts are breakpoints, and these must be retained.25G DAC high speed cableOnce the interconnection specifications of this type of server are broken, they usually have to be replaced on the same day. They are still in the standing range and are not suitable for waiting for shipments.

After dividing the three categories, make a table: standing stock is allocated according to the quantity in use, quarterly replenishment is allocated according to the equipment replacement plan, and temporary allocation only retains specifications that can be shipped on the same day. This list is rearranged once a year as the models in use change. It saves inventory compared to stocking up based on feelings, and there is less chance of picking up the wrong model.
