The test report included with the goods was measured when it left the factory. Whether it still holds true after transportation and changes in temperature and humidity requires a few samples to be verified. Retesting the luminous power is quick and easy, but choosing the wrong sample can easily lead to wrong conclusions.

Select samples to cover extreme values rather than grabbing them randomly

It is recommended to select the upper limit, lower limit and middle value in the report from the batch, and then select the ports that will be connected to the long-distance link. It is easiest to only extract the middle value, but it will cover up the true dispersion. The dispersion of the same wholesale optical power is generally controlled within 2dB. If it exceeds this range, you need to go back and check the instrument and test jumpers before deciding whether to expand sampling.

Only when the retest actions are fixed can they be compared.

  • For the same power meter, the same wavelength, and the same test jumper, the data from changing meters midway will not be merged into the same table.
  • The module should be powered on and stabilized for one to two minutes before taking a reading. The first reading of the cold machine is usually low, and the end face should be cleaned once every dozen or so measurements.
  • The difference between the actual measurement and the report is about 1dB, which is a normal measurement difference. If the difference exceeds 2dB, the same product should be re-inspected before making a conclusion.

How to implement and archive the results

Fill in the corresponding line of the report with the actual measured values to form an arrival retest record and file it together with the acceptance form.SFP Gigabit single mode dual fiber 10KM optical moduleFor this type of bulk stall, a few dozen can cover the entire batch trend; for long-distance stalls with small quantities and sensitive margins, such asSFP 2.5G single mode dual fiber 80KM optical module, it is recommended to retest one by one. The difference between the power meter reading and the DDM reading is also recorded as a reference for future online alarm interpretations.

Retesting is not to overturn the manufacturer's report, but to confirm that the batch is consistent with the actual product. EB-LINK opens the re-inspection channel for the units that are out of tolerance after re-testing. Just send the records. Tel: 0755-83179002.
