The production line transmits each quality inspection image back to the MES, not just plugging in the network cable and done. Images must be judged in real time and archived for traceability. Once the upload link and cache are not designed well, mismatched empty records will appear in the MES, making subsequent traceability even more troublesome.

Real-time judgment and archive upload are divided into two ways.

Determination is carried out through local loopback of the visual station, and the results are produced in milliseconds without being affected by the network; archiving is carried out in an independent upload queue, and is packaged in batches before being uploaded to the MES image service. After the two roads are separated, network congestion will only delay file retention and will not slow down the production line rhythm. This is the most basic principle of image return.

Offline caching should be calculated based on capacity rather than time

  • Calculate the average number of bytes of a single file first, and then estimate the required cache space based on the allowed downtime. This is more reliable than the number of days of caching.
  • The cache directory is placed on a separate disk to prevent the system disk from being filled up and causing the collection process to freeze at the same time.
  • After recovery, the data will be transmitted in batch order, retaining the original timestamp, and there is no need to change the logic on the MES side.
  • Set a high water level alarm for the cache disk. When it is almost full, you will be reminded to expand the capacity in advance instead of waiting for the image to be lost.
