There is no picture after the optical transceiver is installed. A lot of rework is caused by skipping the pre-power-on inspection and blindly pressing reset repeatedly. This article explains in order the power-on debugging steps of the video optical transceiver and the correct timing of reset.
Go through the checklist before powering on
- Confirm that the models at both the sending and receiving ends are paired and the number of channels is consistent to avoid mixing different standards;
- Check that the optical fiber connector is tightly inserted, the end face is clean, and the jumper is not stepped on or excessively bent;
- Check the voltage and polarity of the power adapter, and uniformly number it on the computer room side;
- First connect only the video signal channel, then connect the data and audio channels to narrow down the variables for investigation.
After powering on, press the indicator lights to activate the items one by one.
The optical power and video indicators should light up at the same time during normal locking. If the optical power light does not light up, exchange the jumpers first to determine the problem on the link side; if the video light turns on but there is no picture on the monitor, check the receiving end BNC and monitor input settings. For links containing voice, wait for the image to stabilize before connecting to the audio test, for example1-way two-way audio optical transceiverCooperate with video channel opening; for SDI high-definition link1-way 3G-SDI audio and video optical transceiver, first confirm that the camera output format matches the device, and then light up the recording status one by one.
The right time to reset
Reset is only applicable to temporary problems such as abnormal status in channel configuration or data direction, and has no effect on optical path attenuation and fiber breakage. If a reset does not restore the link, return to the link check list. Do not press reset repeatedly to avoid missing abnormal phenomena and making it difficult to judge. Before contacting the manufacturer for support, record the channel number, indicator light status and wiring photos. Follow the checklist before turning on the power. The startup is usually completed in one go, and on-site debugging time can be saved in half.
